I was right yesterday, I do like where Rob Singleton is going with this.
As Christians we spend so much time chasing things that don’t really matter. We boycott everything under the sun. Because of that, many people know Christians for only two things, boycotting and being hypocrites.
(Note: I’m including myself in this group sometimes too.)
The problem is we’re chasing morality. Our faith should not be about morality. It should only be about two things. The first is chasing Jesus. Our personal relationship with him is the top priority. Once we have him, he’ll cause the second part, which is an overwhelming desire to connect other with Jesus.
That’s it. End of story.
Why do we feel the need to try and legislate morality? It’s not our job. The Bible says only Jesus can change hearts, and changed hearts is what is required for sinful people (all of us) to walk in a moral way. Why are we surprised when the world acts in a sinful way, or endorses sinful actions? They don’t claim to be Christians! They aren’t held to the same standards we are.
Our job is just to lead them to Jesus and let him do the rest.
Rob, I can’t wait for part three.
