$100

Just a warning to those of you thinking of having kids, once you get to the three kids point, a date will be a minimum of $100.
$50 of that is just for the baby sitter.
The rest is just a meal and a movie.
It’s just depressing. So if we want date night once a week, that’s [...]

Wow

I’ll write a full review tomorrow, but for now, just know I’m amazed at The Dark Knight. In the history of movies, none has been more appropriately named than this one.
This is not a summer popcorn movie. This is not a movie about watching Batman beat up the bad guys. This is an exploration of [...]

DRM and you

This is a quick post for iTunes users. Have the DRM (digital rights management) restrictions on the song ever created any problem for you? I’m in a hurry this morning so I don’t have time to look it up but I think Apple’s DRM allows you to play a song you purchase on up to [...]

Quote of the day

This will only be funny to people that have played games online. Let’s just say it’s populated mostly by idiots.
Oh, and 256-player online? We don’t doubt it will work … we just doubt our brains’ ability to process 255 racial slurs and/or homophobic remarks simulatenously.
From this story talking about a new Playstation 3 game with [...]

Still alive!

A couple of weeks ago I posted about one of my childhood staples, Ecto Cooler.
Well, good news everyone! It’s still available on store shelves today as “Orange Lavaburst.” It’s lost its formerly Slimer-esque green tint, but it tastes just like I remember it.

Ecto Cooler

Notice the disclaimer in the top right that says this blog is about what interests me. Well this is one of those times, so you’ll just has to stick with me while I remember one of the joys of my childhood…Ecto Cooler.

Today I was walking through the kitchen and a memory of Ecto Cooler popped [...]

Larry Joe Taylor

Wednesday I did a quick shoot with Stephenville musician Larry Joe Taylor for an upcoming article about his music events.
Loved that old tractor out on his place and his 20th Anniversary guitar.
You can view the rest of the set here.
You can view his site here for his appearance schedule.

Hello, old friend

Off to finally see Indiana Jones tonight. Wish us luck. I’m very excited despite Dave’s review.
To quote someone I saw on Twitter, “For the record, Indiana Jones doesn’t have to be a great movie for me to love it.”
Sums up my feelings perfectly.

Mrs. Grimlock

This morning, the kids decided they wanted to play. They also decided I was to be Grimlock, the Transformer pictured above. So basically I would stoop down, pretend I had short arms and was a 50-foot-tall robot dinosaur.
Your typical Saturday morning with three sons.
I was stomping through the house, growling and occasionally picking a boy [...]

Crazy pills, now available at the Wright house

I’m pretty sure everyone at my house is taking crazy pills.
First thing this morning I woke up and strolled in to the office. On my way in I noticed Colton in the game room playing Halo.
“Colton, are you allowed to play video games before school in the mornings?”
“No, but Mom said I don’t have to [...]

Interesting things I’ve found lately:
WhereWeDoWhatWeDo.com
My new favorite site. I have this odd obsession with seeing pictures of people’s workspaces. It’s even better with all the Apple products and cool desks around. When I get my office cleaned (finally) I’ll put mine on there too.
Los asks, Cute or Disturbing?
I say very cute with just a pinch [...]

Attack of the Killer To-Do List

Last Friday I had a bit of a problem dealing with my to-do list. It was all chronicled on Twitter. I thought I’d post it here for your amusement.
9:48AM My to-do list today is staring at me. It looks hungry.
10:43AM My to-do list just slapped me in the face. I don’t think it respects me.
11:05AM [...]

Are you friggin’ kidding me?

Let me set the stage for you. Theater of the mind if you will.
We’re driving home from a staff meeting Wednesday night. While at the staff meeting we checked the radar and noticed the mother of all storms heading right towards us. So naturally we were watching the skies as lightning danced threateningly all around [...]

Grand Theft Auto 4 and me

I bought Grand Theft Auto 4 the day it came out. After a week of playing it (ok, actually I’ve only had a couple of hours to play it all week) I think I might return it.
Why?
Because of the rampant violence? No. I don’t think I own a game that doesn’t involve putting digital bullets [...]

“You got yourself a stew.”

For my brother Cody, who insisted my blog needs 100% more Carl Weathers than it has now.
It’s an inside joke. Move along. Nothing to see here.
