On writing

I’ve been writing for quite a while, but even with that, my experience in the world of professional writing is somewhat limited. However, I can tell you something very important if you want to be a writer.

Finish something.

How many unfinished ideas languish on hard drives, just waiting to be finished? If you never finish writing that story, no one will ever see it. If no one ever sees it, you won’t receive feedback. If you don’t receive feedback, you’ll never start rewriting. If you never start rewriting, you’ll never become a better writer. If you never become a better writer, you’ll never be published.

No one has any problem starting a story. Be one of the few who can actually finish one.
